I recently had an eye-opening experience regarding my somewhat EXTENSIVE dealings on Facebook...
And it occurred to me that, although unilaterally "RESOURCE RICH",
the perceived INTENT of social media, in general, can be severely MISUNDERSTOOD...
Hence, it can be and IS, ABUSED by many...
Clearly the old Aristotelian adage of "Man being a POLITICAL Animal" is an undeniable truth...
My use of the word "Political" is directed at "Our Collective NEED" to be a PART of a LARGER FACTION..
Belonging-ness, if you will...
Need to be LOVED even...
And so, quite organically, we move toward "like" minds...
We can sense, even smell, a kindred grouping...
And we are drawn in....
In some cases, we are actually SUCKED in...
For these groupings can act as a VACUUM for the soul...
Ultimately, we awaken one day, to our shock, chagrin, and/or DELIGHT...
to find that we have been INDUCTED into a CLUB of Fanaticism and Diatribe...
(Even though we were just REALLY JONESING for LOVE )!!
And the diatribe is LOUD and ABSOLUTE ...
And suddenly, or rather INSIDIOUSLY,
we have become a RAVING, JUDGMENTAL FANATIC !!
Even though we began our "SEARCH" only to unearth certain seeming "truths"
about who we are....
How did we get here ??
to this UNRECOGNIZABLE Cauldron of "My Way or the Highway" ??
And is it possible.....or even DESIRABLE.....
to go back to a Simpler, more Loving Place ?
